One People, Built up Together

“As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”           1 Peter 2:4-5

As our Navah family prepares for transition the Lord is inviting us to be built up together as living stones.  He desires that we build upon Him.

  • Personal: Invite the Lord to identify the spiritual gifts and graces he has given you. Ask the Father to forgive you if there’s any way you have compared yourself to others. Thank him for the way he has intentionally designed you.
  • Corporate: In light of the gifts the Father has given you, ask him how he intends to use you to build-up and strengthen the spiritual home that is his body, the Church.
  • Missional: Pray for your family and friends who haven’t come home to the Father yet. Receive the Lord’s heart for his family, those he desires to become living stones. Bless the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives and pray for a revelation of Jesus.

Christ is called a Stone, to teach his servants that he is their protection and security, the foundation on which they are built. He is precious in the excellence of his nature, the dignity of his office, and the glory of his services. All true believers are a holy priesthood; sacred to God, serviceable to others, endowed with heavenly gifts and graces. – Commentary from Matthew Henry 1 Peter 2:1-10
